If you're a trainee solicitor who is drawn to working in private client and on track to qualify in 2025 – we'd love to hear from you!

As a Tax & Trust Solicitor you will be advising on and assisting others who advise on wills, trusts and tax planning for high-net-worth UK and foreign domiciled individuals, trustees and beneficiaries.

  • Provide legal advice to clients on tax planning strategies and trust establishment.
  • Draft and review trust documents and agreements to ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Assist clients in navigating complex inheritance, capital gains, and income tax regulations.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support casework and client inquiries.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing continuous support and counsel on their legal needs.
  • Collaborate with other legal specialists and professionals to deliver integrated legal services to clients.

There will be opportunities to specialise in advising:

  • owners of farms and estates and farming partnerships;
  • owners of companies and partnerships;
  • on offshore trusts and multi-jurisdictional tax and succession planning issues; and/or on tax in relation to the settlement of trust litigation.

The team you'll be joining

Our private client team consists of 4 specialist areas: Probate & Estate Administration, Trust Management, Court of Protection and Tax & Trusts.

A few reasons why you should consider Wilsons as a firm of choice in Wiltshire:

  • We have a national reputation when it comes to the administration of estates and our senior partner is described in Chambers UK as a leader in her field.
  • Our team of experts are regularly instructed by accountants, trust companies and other firms of solicitors to advise on the best form of trust structures, drafting of trusts and give advice on UK trust and tax law. The team also manage a large number of trusts ranging in value from £250,000 to £25,000,000.
  • What distinguishes us from other firms who do tax and lifetime planning is that we put all our tax solicitors through the ATT / CTA and provide 17 days study leave per exam plus the exam itself. That is to be taken as 5 days immediately before the exam and a day a week for the 12 weeks before that. This is significantly more study leave than most firms provide.

Joining our private client team will enrich your legal knowledge and positively challenge you to reach your full potential.
