Margaret is an employment law practitioner in our London office. Margaret qualified as a solicitor in 1983 and initially specialised in a mixture of employment law and civil dispute resolution. Before joining Wilsons Margaret was for 20 years a partner of Fieldfisher LLP and member of its Employment Practice which she at one time headed up including being the leader of its European Employment practice.
Margaret has extensive experience of employment and discrimination law issues, including undertaking advocacy in the Employment Tribunals. Margaret acts for a wide range of employer commercial clients in the life sciences, retail and financial service sectors. She also acts for employer charities, Royal Charter organisations and City Livery companies.
As is the case for any employment law practitioner with years of experience Margaret's work covers all aspects of the employer/employee relationship. Her work has ranged from recruitment to termination, transfers of undertakings (TUPE), restrictive covenants and post-termination protection, redundancy consultation at the national and international level as well as directors duties and employee fraud.
For employees, Margaret primarily advises at the executive level, assisting in recruitment/terms and conditions, work-place disputes and exits.
Margaret was for 7 years non-executive director of one of the largest hospital trusts where she was Chair of its HR and Remuneration Commitee and a member of its Audit Commitee. She was also the trust's director responsible for diverity and human rights and its Public interest Disclosure issues.
Margaret is a member of the Law Society, the Industrial Law Society, The Employment Lawyers Association and the ABA International Employment Law Committee.
