Commercial Surrogacy could be legalised in Canada

At the moment Canada (in line with the UK) allows altruistic surrogacy, i.e. the surrogate mother is paid only her expenses, but not commercial surrogacy.  In fact in Canada commercial surrogacy is a criminal offence with harsh penalties.

A Montreal-area MP will soon be presenting a bill which decriminalises making payments to surrogates and also to sperm and egg donors.
