Bills to widen access to fertility treatment in USA

1 June 2018

A bill has been introduced to the Senate and House of Representatives which could allow much wider access to fertility treatment.  Private insurers and healthcare plans for government employees would have to cover such treatment, without increasing premiums.

A second bill would guarantee IVF for couples who have not conceived after 12 months of trying or where one partner is clinically unable to impregnate or conceive.  It will also remove restrictions on people based on age, disability or family composition.
