Lesbian Couple Wins Right to Funded IVF

17 December 2017

The couple was initially informed by their local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) that they would have to pay £6,000 for IVF treatment which would have been free for same-sex parents.

It was held that the couple was discriminated against under the Equality Act 2010 and the CCG has agreed to review its policy so that all couples are treated equally.
