Tax & Trust Solicitor (8yrs+ PQE)

Location: Salisbury

The work you'll be doing

You will  provide strategic advice on all areas of wealth preservation and succession planning, typically to the owners of landed estates, large farms, family businesses and heritage chattels and properties.

  • Provide legal advice to clients on tax planning strategies and trust establishment.
  • Draft and review trust documents and agreements to ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Assist clients in navigating complex inheritance, capital gains, and income tax regulations.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support casework and client inquiries.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing continuous support and counsel on their legal needs.
  • Collaborate with other legal specialists and professionals to deliver integrated legal services to clients.

There will be opportunities to specialise in advising:

  • owners of farms and estates and farming partnerships;
  • owners of companies and partnerships; 
  • on offshore trusts and multi-jurisdictional tax and succession planning issues; and/or on tax in relation to the settlement of trust litigation.

As an expert in this field, you'll have the following attributes:

  • 8 years+ PQE gained within a strong regional, national or City firm.
  • Exceptional academic background.
  • Client-focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Proactive and results-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptable and resilient with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

The team you'll be joining

Our tax and trust team are based in Salisbury and comprises of 5 partners, 1 senior associate, 1 associate, 3 solicitors, 1 trainee solicitor and 2 consultants.  Lead by Sian Andrew who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in tax and trust work and joined Wilsons in 1999 as a trainee solicitor.
