Alistair works in our Probate and Estate Administration team having joined Wilsons in August 2024. He has previously worked in a number of major regional law firms on the south coast, as well as a major national law firm.
Alistair started his career as a submariner in the Royal Navy and read Physics at Durham University, before he requalified as a solicitor.
He deals with all private client matters but now specialises in probate and estate administration that are either complex or deal with cross border matters. Alistair has amongst others, dealt with the following:
- taxable and non-taxable estates
- intestacy or partial intestacy, including in cross border matters
- carried out estate planning by way of Deed of Variations
- Domicile queries
- military estates
- English estates where the deceased was domiciled in England and held assets abroad or non-UK domiciled clients with assets in the UK
In 2019, Alistair qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA). He is also a Notary Public assisting clients, as well as major businesses and companies, with their cross border business requirements.
Having worked for two years in the Netherlands Alistair, is also conversant in Dutch and is a fluent German speaker.

- Member of the Notaries Society.
- Member of the German Institute of Inheritance (Institut für Erbrecht)
In his spare time Alistair enjoys outdoor pursuits and enjoys Military History.
