We understand that a state of emergency has been declared in the British Virgin Islands. In some BVI trusts, an automatic change of trustee and jurisdiction is triggered by the declaration of a state of emergency. If you are the trustee of a BVI trust or a beneficiary, you should check whether there are any emergency provisions, and if so their effect.
