Part 1:
Initial steps in taking control of long-term sickness absence
Our case study starts with an employee who has been off sick for a month. We will cover requests for medical information and how to ensure these are GDPR compliant, as well as managing an employee who does not engage with the sickness management process.

Part 2:
Considering whether an employee is disabled
 
We will assess whether the employee is disabled, the legal obligation to make reasonable adjustments and just how far the employer should go when considering adjustments in our case study.  

Part 3:
Dismissal – is it fair?

We will end our case study with the dismissal of the employee, the fair dismissal process and looking at potential pitfalls.
